Sumi-e is a special kind of art that comes from Asia, where people use Chinese ink to create beautiful images and expressive brushstrokes with the water. Imagine using only one color, black, and with it, you can draw flowers, animals, and landscapes. Even using just black, you can create many different shades, from very light grays to very dark blacks. To paint in the Sumi-e style, a special brush and paper are used. Doing Sumi-e is not just about painting; it's also a way to learn to be calm and focused. It's an artistic and meditative experience at the same time. In our workshops, you can learn to make your own Sumi-e painting. It's a fun way to practice patience and see how with just a few simple brush strokes you can create something truly beautiful and unique.
